Graduate and professional studies

Use the calculator below to determine the per-semester graduate and professional studies costs of attending Virginia Commonwealth University. The calculator lists programs with unique tuition and/or fees. If your program is not listed, please select the general option based on the campus of your program.

For most programs, graduate and professional studies students enrolled in 8 credits or less are charged tuition and fees at the per credit hour rate. If planning to enroll on a part-time basis, multiply the per-credit-hour rate times the anticipated hours of enrollment. Post-undergraduate programs are considered full-time at 9 credits. Most programs are assessed a flat tuition rate for enrollment in 9 to 15 credits. The calculator provides an estimate of expenses and may not reflect the complete cost of tuition, fees and other charges.

Cost of Attendance

Cost of attendance is an estimate of educational expenses used to determine financial aid eligibility. The COA includes an estimate of both direct costs (charges billed by VCU) and indirect costs (other costs not billed by VCU).

The COA does not represent the actual amount billed by VCU. The tuition and fees calculator provides a better estimate of the semester costs billed by VCU.
